The Export Council for Medical and Pharmaceutical Industries revealed the participation of 21 companies from the largest pharmaceutical companies, medical supplies and major hospitals in Egypt in the “Health Expo Iraq” exhibition in order to identify the capabilities of the Iraqi market and establish partnerships with companies and hospitals there, especially in light of the distinguished participation of major Egyptian companies.
Dr. Maged George, Chairman of the Export Council for Medical Industries and Medicines, announced that the sector’s exports increased by 14% in the first half of 2023, to record approximately $530 million, compared to $467 million during the same period last year.
Dr. Maged George praised President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s recent directives regarding tax exemptions for the productive sectors, stressing that it is a step that supports new industries and investments, which is ultimately reflected in the exports of various sectors.
Maged George indicated that the vision of the Export Council for Medical Industries and Medicines is based on achieving annual targets to increase exports by at least 30% annually, which supports the government’s direction towards developing exports and contributing to solving the currency shortage crisis.
