Lebanon announces the freezing of the bank accounts of the former central governor and his partners

The Special Investigation Commission for Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing at the Central Bank of Lebanon said in a statement today, Monday, that it had decided to freeze the bank accounts of the former bank governor, Riad Salameh, and his associates, and to lift their secrecy.

The statement of the decision, which was classified as “confidential”, was leaked, and the Commission also decided to lift the confidentiality of the accounts of the persons that were suspended.
