“This is where massive interest lies particularly with the Open Water swimmers.
“That includes groups like Swim Free Aberdeen, whose organiser George Jamieson who is originally Macduff swim from the Aquarium to Tarlair.
“They and many others would love to see the big pool in use again. “
Commenting ahead of taking to the waters at Tarlair George Jamieson said: “We’re very keen to support the plans for Tarlair as we have been back when the project to restore it was first started.
“A lot of open water swimmers are always on the look out for good locations and Tarlair is certainly a place that we would use more when it was available to us, especially for those that are new to open swimming as it would be a safe site for introduction with good facilities.”
