Urgent Agriculture: The release of 167 thousand tons of corn and soybeans

Within the framework of following up the directives of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, regarding the release of production requirements
Mr. Al-Qaseer, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, announced that the release of fodder requirements is continuing in coordination with the Central Bank:
He added that during the period from 8/18/2023 to 8/24/2023, 167,000 tons of corn and soybeans were released, at a value of about $75 million.
Al-Qusayr said that the release included 138,000 tons of corn, worth about $50 million, and about 29,000 tons of soybeans, worth about $21 million, as well as feed additives worth about $4 million.
The total that was released during the period from (October 16, 2022 to August 24, 2023) is 7.3 million tons, including 5.3 million tons of corn, 2 million tons of soybeans and feed additives, with a total amount of $3.5 billion.
Al-Qusayr stressed that the release aims to provide quantities in the market of corn and soy, which are the basic ingredients for poultry feed, as well as farm animals.
The Minister of Agriculture stated that there is continuous follow-up and full coordination with the Central Bank, and with the support of the Prime Minister personally, to release appropriate quantities of corn, soybeans, raw materials and feed additives from Egyptian ports to support this industry.
