Dr. Muhammad Othman El-Khasht, President of Cairo University, issued a decision assigning Dr. Ehab Mohamed Abdel-Hamid El-Shehhi, Head of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, to supervise the new “Fransawy” Kasr Al-Aini Teaching Hospital, assigning a strong work team with him from senior professors to upgrade medical services in the hospital and expedite the implementation of The French development plan announced by Dr. Muhammad Al-Khasht, within the framework of the university’s continuation of its efforts to radically develop the hospital, which comes within the huge project to develop university hospitals according to the latest international methods and systems, in light of the strategic plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Cairo University.
Who is Ehab El Shehy?
Dr. Ihab Al-Shehhi is currently the head of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, the founder and director of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department at El-Fransawy Hospital from 1996 to 2002, the Director of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department at Manial Specialist Hospital from 2002 to 2007, and the Head of the Accidents Unit of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department. He is a member of the Medical Supplies Registration Committee at the Egyptian Ministry of Health, in addition to his membership in the permanent scientific committee for promotions in universities to the rank of professor and assistant professor.
A project to develop Kasr Al-Ainy Hospital “The French”
Last July, Dr. Muhammad Al-Khasht launched a project to develop the new Qasr Al-Aini Teaching Hospital, “Al-Fransawi”, in a radical and comprehensive development, after specialized scientific studies in which the Dean of the College of Medicine, specialized professors, the Board of Directors of University Hospitals and elite leaders of Qasr Al-Aini participated in cooperation between the Engineering Consultation Center at the College of Engineering. The management of Al-Fransawi Hospital, the Faculty of Medicine and various parties related to the project. The project for the development of Al-Fransawi Hospital aims to upgrade the hospital in accordance with hospital standards, participate in presidential initiatives and keep abreast of modern international and local requirements, standards and codes for hospitals so that the hospital is compatible with the comprehensive health insurance system. with an intelligent control system, and the third is the development of administrative systems, the governance of management systems, and a comprehensive modernization of hospital systems. This development will take place in 4 phases (urgent, short-term, long-term, and final) for a period of 3 years; After efforts were made to secure a budget for the development project, including presentation to the Education Committee in Parliament, where it was endorsed and supported by members of Parliament, and it was approved during the session of the Education Committee on the budget from the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, where part of the project will be funded by the state, part of the self-financing of the university, and part of the financing Banks, through meetings and meetings with the managements of a group of major banks.
