Developing 36 nursery halls in cooperation between Port Said Solidarity and Misr El Kheir

The Directorate of Social Solidarity and NGOs in Port Said Governorate signed a cooperation protocol with the Misr El Kheir Foundation, a member of the National Alliance, to start developing 36 nursery halls in the governorate, within the framework of implementing the National Program for Early Development at the Ministry of Solidarity, to raise the efficiency of nurseries, adjust their conditions, support the skills of service providers, and provide a safe environment. For children from one day to 4 years old, with the participation of 7 NGOs.

The protocol comes as a continuation of the activities carried out by the Misr El-Kheir Foundation in the field of early childhood, which included the development of 455 early childhood halls in 10 governorates to serve nearly 9 thousand children and 630 facilitators and executive staff. Another 107 halls are currently being developed in three governorates. As part of Misr El Kheir’s strategy for early childhood, which aims to develop 1,000 early childhood halls in various villages and cities of the Republic.

For his part, Major General Atef Wagdy, General Secretary of Port Said Governorate, said that the governorate is honored to cooperate with Misr El Kheir Foundation to develop nursery halls in cooperation with NGOs in the governorate.

The Secretary General of Port Said Governorate confirmed that the development of nurseries will benefit and benefit the people of the governorate, within the framework of implementing the national program for early childhood development to provide a safe environment for children, noting that it is intended to complete the development before the start of the next academic year to serve the people of the governorate.

While Dr. Saber Hassan, Head of the Education Sector at Misr El Kheir Foundation, explained that the protocol comes as a continuation of the educational activities in the field of early childhood that Misr El Kheir is carrying out in the governorates of the Republic, explaining that it also comes within the third phase of the national program for early childhood development, which aims to provide health and educational care. necessary for children to build their personality and develop their potential and skills.

Nursery development

Dr. Saber Hassan noted that the development of nurseries includes reconciling conditions and fulfilling the requirements of civil protection, as well as the engineering and construction development of nurseries such as paints and floors, maintenance of toilets and electricity, as well as the provision of appropriate furniture, recreational games and educational tools for children, which helps in raising enrollment rates in nurseries.

In the context, Mohsen Naji, director of the National Program for Early Childhood Development at the Ministry of Social Solidarity, indicated that the ministry aims to develop 550 early childhood halls nationwide in the third phase of the program, funded by the Ministry of Solidarity, with the participation of a number of associations and civil institutions.

For his part, Farrag Hafez, Director General of the Directorate of Social Solidarity in Port Said, noted that the Directorate is coordinating with the Misr El-Kheir Foundation to select and rehabilitate nurseries and reconcile their conditions. To adhere to the educational curricula agreed upon by the Ministry of Social Solidarity.

Dr. Alaa Sadek said that the protocol signed today also extends to training facilitators on the latest educational methods for dealing with children at this age stage, according to the curriculum and standards approved by the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the National Program for Early Childhood Development, in order to build a healthy child.
