The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation continues to implement a work plan to assess the condition of water facilities and their maintenance procedures in various governorates of Egypt, within the framework of the inventory carried out by the Ministry’s agencies for all facilities, in addition to following up the work of purifying watercourses and using appropriate equipment that preserves the bridges of canals, drains and watercourses.
Evaluating the condition of water installations and their maintenance procedures
In the same context, Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, held a meeting to follow up the procedures for evaluating the condition of water facilities and their maintenance procedures, within the framework of the inventory made by the Ministry’s agencies for these facilities, with a total of 47 thousand water facilities nationwide.
Providing water during the season of maximum agricultural needs
The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation stressed the need to follow up the work of purifying waterways and use appropriate equipment that preserves the bridges of these canals, drains and waterways, in order to preserve and provide water resources during the season of maximum water needs.
The meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Essam Khalifa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry, Eng. Mohamed Salih, Head of the Irrigation Authority, Eng. Mohamed Abdel Samie, Head of the Drainage Authority, Dr. Khaled Wasif, Assistant Minister for Companies and Investment, Eng. Nadi Gerges, Head of the Irrigation Sector, and Eng. Mahmoud Abdel Sattar, Advisor to the Ministry. And Dr. Ahmed Medhat, head of the central administration and supervisor of the minister’s office.
It was also held in the presence of Engineer Iman Abdel Aziz, Head of the Central Administration for Technical, Financial and Administrative Inspection and Supervisor of Citizen Service and Parliament and Senate Affairs, Engineer Abu Bakr Al-Rouby, Head of the Central Administration for Watercourse Maintenance, Engineer Hussein Shanab, Director General of the Office of the Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry, and Dr. Ezz El-Din Kamel, Assistant Minister for irrigation installations.
