Whereas this tour comes within the framework of the follow-up of the project for the rehabilitation, development and construction of the Al-Fardan line east of Port Said, Bir Al-Abd Al-Arish Taba, with a total length of about 500 km. .

The Minister of Transport also followed up the progress of work in renewing and restoring the efficiency of the stations, as the Holding Company for Roads and Bridges affiliated with the Ministry of Transport completed the renovation work of the Bir al-Abd station within 45 days, and work is underway to restore the efficiency and renewal of other stations such as Al-Qantara Sharq, Jalbanah, Rummana and Baloza. A new station will also be established in Al-Arish

Construction of a new double metal bridge over the new Suez Canal

The minister also followed up the progress of the construction of a new metal bridge in Al-Fardan area and the rehabilitation works of the existing bridge. In press statements on the sidelines of his tour, Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir said that one of the main components of the Arish-Taba logistical corridor was monitored today, which is the project to rehabilitate, develop and construct the Al-Fardan railway east of Port Said / Bir Al-Abd / Al-Arish / Taba, with a total length of about 500 km, as it will serve This line transports passengers and goods, as it will serve the residential, industrial and mining communities in Sinai by linking the factories with railway links, then exporting through the port of Al-Arish and Taba to abroad, as this line is linked to the railway network throughout the Republic. Pointing out that the Arish/Taba logistical corridor is a new development corridor that contributes to achieving comprehensive development in Sinai and has many economic returns and will serve the people of North, Central and South Sinai.

In a related context and within the framework of the Egyptian government’s plan to develop Sinai and the Ministry of Transport’s plan to raise the efficiency of roads in northern and central Sinai, the most important of which is the 170-km-long Al-Qantara east-Al-Arish double road, Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, accompanied by Major General Hossam El-Din Mustafa, Head of the Public Authority for Roads and Bridges, and the authority’s leaders inspected the works. Raising the efficiency and expanding the distance from Qantara East to Balouza with a length of 19 km, which is being implemented as part of the presidential initiative, a decent life, at a cost of 153.6 million pounds. The distance from the ambush of Bir al-Abd to the ambush of Balouza is about 52 km in the direction of Qantara East, at a cost of 300 million pounds.
It is worth noting that within the framework of the comprehensive plan to develop the road network in North Sinai, the Ministry of Transport is implementing a periodic maintenance plan to protect roads from weather factors (torrential rains – moving sand dunes).
