Sugar and Integrated Industries opens the alcohol production unit at the Hawamdiya factory

Major General Essam Al-Budaiwi, CEO and Managing Director of the Egyptian Sugar and Integrated Industries Company, one of the holding companies for food industries in the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, inaugurated the unit for the production of absolute alcohol 99.9 from cane clippings and the oxygen and nitrogen production unit in the company’s factory complex in Al-Hawamdia, under the auspices of Dr. Ali Al-Moselhy, Minister of Supply and Trade. The Ministry of Interior and in the presence of Dr. Ibrahim Dardir, Managing Director of Manufacturing Industries, and Chemist Salah Omar, Managing Director of the Sugar Industry.

Major General Essam El-Bedewy, CEO and Managing Director of the Egyptian Sugar and Integrated Industries Company, one of the holding companies for food industries in the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, had confirmed that he is now in negotiations with a German company to enter into a partnership to establish a factory to produce all kinds of paper from bagasse lollipop and that the factory will be built on an area 60 feddans in the Nagaa Hammadi area in Qena Governorate, with investments ranging from 4 to 5 billion pounds, pointing out that the period of establishing the factory ranges from one and a half to two years.

Establishment of a bi-ethanol production plant

Major General Essam Al-Budaiwi added that negotiations are underway with an international company to establish a factory for the production of bi-ethanol, which is used in mixing gasoline to reduce carbon emissions. The factory is scheduled to be established in Kom Ombo, Aswan Governorate, on an area of ​​50,000 acres and at an investment cost estimated at 3.5 billion pounds. It is also scheduled that the implementation of the plant will start in December, and the implementation will take between 18 to 24 months, as the production capacity is expected to be estimated at 62 million liters annually.
