The Minister of Higher Education is discussing ways of cooperation with the Chinese delegation of Zhacheng University

At the beginning of the meeting, the minister stressed the depth of the relations between Egypt and China, especially in the fields of higher education, scientific research and technology, noting the ministry’s keenness to consolidate international partnerships as part of the higher education and scientific research strategy, and to benefit from distinguished international experiences in developing the Egyptian higher education system. The minister discussed with the Chinese delegation the possibility of opening horizons for joint cooperation between Zhacheng University and Egyptian universities of technology, praising the Chinese Zhacheng University, which is one of the most prominent Chinese public universities, as a leading research university and has achieved distinguished ranks within the international rankings, as well as its interest in establishing distinguished partnerships with the industry sector. Referring to the focus in technological education on providing practical training for students; to qualify them for the labor market.

The minister also discussed with the university delegation cooperation in the field of computer science and artificial intelligence, as well as partnership in study programs in technological universities, whether in the two- or four-year system, stressing the observance of meeting the international quality standards required in those programs.

The Chinese delegation gave a presentation on the university’s achievements, as well as the volume of international partnerships it has achieved worldwide in the field of scientific exchange, and areas in which cooperation can be made in the fields of computer science, software engineering, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, networks, and information security.

The presentation highlighted the university’s interest in designing study programs in accordance with the requirements of the labor market, providing practical training for students, and scientific exchange with relevant and globally distinguished educational institutions, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The Chinese side expressed its desire to enhance cooperation with the Egyptian side, especially in areas that serve the two countries as countries with a high population density, to meet their needs in the field of technology and digitization, and to provide technologically qualified graduates for the labor market.

The Chinese delegation also thanked the minister for the warm reception, praising the development achieved by the Egyptian higher education system, especially the expansion in the field of technological education.

It is worth noting that Zhacheng University is a leader in Asia in the field of computer science, graphics, and computer security, and it ranked 12th in the world, according to US news ranking of the best universities in the field of computer science.
