The Minister of Housing follows up on the ongoing development projects at the headquarters of the “New Burj Al Arab” agency.

At the outset of his visit to the city today, Dr. Assem El-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, held a meeting at the headquarters of the New Borg El-Arab City Authority, to follow up the progress of work in various sectors in the city, and the position of the various development projects being implemented in the city, in the presence of officials of the Ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority, Head of the New Burj Al Arab City Authority.
And Dr. Assem El-Gazzar confirmed that the volume of investments that were spent in the new city of Burj Al-Arab during the 9 years of President Sisi’s era, from 2014 until now, is equivalent to double what was spent during the 35 years since the establishment of the city in 1979, until 2014, as the total investments since 2014, more than 4 billion pounds, while the volume of investment in the city during the 35 years amounted to 2.3 billion pounds, and the investment plan for the city for the current fiscal year 2023/2024 exceeds 900 million pounds.
The minister indicated that the total investments in the drinking water sector in the new city of Burj Al Arab amounted to about 784 million pounds, of which 349 million pounds since 2014, and in the sanitation sector, about 1.973 billion pounds, of which 1.107 billion pounds since 2014. The road sector, about 981 million pounds, including 714 million pounds since 2014, and in the electricity sector, more than one billion and 350 million pounds, of which more than one billion pounds since 2014, and in the telecommunications sector, about 137 million pounds, of which about 103 million EGP 816m since 2014, and in the housing sector, about EGP 816m, including EGP 594m since 2014, and about EGP 240m in the services sector, of which about EGP 132m since 2014, and more than EGP 46m in the agricultural sector, of which More than 27 million pounds since 2014.

The Minister of Housing listened to a detailed explanation from the head of the New Burj Al Arab City Authority, about the work situation in the various sectors of the city, and the position of the various development projects being implemented, explaining that the city is distinguished by its location near the northern coast, as it is 8 km from the coastal road, and is also distinguished It is close to tourist villages and the new city of El Alamein, and is adjacent to Burj Al Arab International Airport and Burj Al Arab Stadium, and is 28 km away from the Alexandria-Cairo Desert Road.
