The Central Administration for Occupational Safety and Health and Securing the Work Environment at the Ministry of Labor launched the “Your Safety Matters to Us” initiative at the Labor Directorate in Damietta in the hall of the Wastani Petroleum Company in Damietta, in the presence of representatives of 25 companies and more than 75 workers working in companies and factories from different fields and sectors, and in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Labor Hassan Shehata to pay attention to publishing A culture of occupational safety and health and securing the work environment within the establishments within all establishments in the various work sectors to protect workers and establishments and provide a safe work environment.
In a statement, the ministry stated that it had received a report from Mona Al-Atroush, Director of the Damietta Labor Directorate, in which she explained that during the initiative, the role played by these initiatives in raising awareness and spreading the culture of safety and health at the level of facilities and various activities in Damietta Governorate was clarified, under the auspices of the Minister of Labor, Hassan Shehata. And Dr. Manal Awad, Damietta Governorate, and Eng. Hala Mahmoud, Director of the Safety Department in Damietta, gave a speech about the role and importance of your safety initiatives in raising awareness and spreading the culture of occupational safety and health in facilities.
Safety committees
The Director of the Directorate added that he gave the first lecture within the initiative, Eng. Medhat Kamel from the Central Administration for Occupational Safety and Health and Securing the Work Environment in the Ministry, on how to form occupational safety and health committees, how to form functional safety devices, what are the rules and procedures necessary for their training, and what is the role of each of the safety committee and the device.
