Ammon – Domestic revenues during the first half of this year amounted to 4420.9 million dinars (4.42 billion dinars), an increase of 403.9 million dinars compared to the same period of the previous year.
The Ministry of Finance said in a press statement on Thursday that the increase came as a result of an increase in tax revenues by about 224.0 million dinars, and an increase in non-tax revenues by about 179.9 million dinars.
The ministry added that the increase in tax revenues came as a result of an increase in income and profit tax revenues by 246.4 million dinars, without raising tax rates, as a result of improved commitment and tax compliance for taxpayers in submitting tax returns. The increase in non-tax revenues is mainly due to the increase in the item of various revenues, including Its value is 67.2 million dinars.
In terms of public spending, the total expenditure of the central government / budget during the first half of 2023 amounted to about 5146.4 million dinars, compared to 4946.1 million dinars during the same period of the previous year.
On the other hand, the percentage of the government debt balance decreased until the end of June 2023, after a statistical exception of what the Social Security Investment Fund (SSIF) holds, to 89.8% of the estimated GDP for the month of June of 2023, compared to 91% of the GDP.
