Ammon – A member of the Amman Chamber of Industry and economic writer, Eng. Musa al-Saket, said that it was necessary to exclude the industrial sector (productive sector) from raising the price of oil derivatives.

Al-Saket added, “We had hoped that the productive sectors would be excluded from the hike, especially after a general meeting on modernization.”

He explained that the Prime Minister had spoken at the forum “to reduce energy burdens on the industrial sector.”

Engineer Musa al-Saket pointed out that the price of fuel for the month of September 2023 is the highest in 9 years.

On Thursday, the government raised the price of a liter of gasoline, both 90 and 95 octane, by 4 piasters, while it raised the price of a liter of diesel by 8.5 piasters in September.

Energy prices and production costs are among the most important challenges facing the industrial sector and limit its competitiveness and export capabilities.
