An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale struck the coast of the US state of Alaska. According to the US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake occurred off the coast of Unimac Island in the state, at a depth of 39.5 kilometers.
There have been no reports of material or human damage as a result of the earthquake.
