Ammon – Deputy Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Region Authority, Hamza Hajj Hassan, confirmed that the authority rents plots of land to investors for “two or three dinars” per square meter in the governorate.

Hajj Hassan said, during his intervention on the Kingdom TV, that the authority has leased plots of land to institutions and ministries for a dinar or half a dinar, per dunum.

He pointed out that the sale and lease of land is governed by the land sale and lease system, especially since all contracts are linked to development and within time periods and guarantees.

He noted that the transfer of land ownership within the region takes place after the price of the land has been paid, and no less than 50-60% of the project has been implemented, so that a restriction is placed on the land until the implementation of the entire project, “so the investor is free to sell his project after that.” .

He stressed that the authority is prohibited from selling beach lands only and leasing them, indicating that the ownership of other plots of land is not transferred to investors until after completing specific percentages for the project.
