AMMAN – UK rail commuters faced more travel disruptions on Friday, after train drivers went on strike and the National Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers’ Union announced another strike on Saturday in a long-running wage dispute.

The British newspaper Evening Standard quoted the Union of Train Drivers in the United Kingdom, that the strike today will continue for 24 hours and led to the cancellation of 16 railway companies, their services, across the United Kingdom, while the National Union of Railway Workers said that less than half of the trains will operate on the day. Tomorrow, Saturday, some services will be subject to cancellation at short notice.

Britain is witnessing labor strikes in various sectors, such as health, aviation, transportation and postal services, in protest against living conditions and high inflation, and to demand higher salaries. (Petra)
