In a statement the club said: “Inverurie Loco Works can confirm that they’ve parted company with manager Andy Low following a disappointing start to the 2023/24 campaign.

“The club would like to put on record their appreciation of Andy’s efforts across two spells in charge, and wish him well for the future.”

Assistant manager Jamie Watt and goalkeeper coach John Farquhar will lead the team while a new manager is found.

It was Low’s second tenure as Loco’s manager which began in January after Richard Hastings left the club.

Loco’s made the final of the Highland League Cup in April which they were defeated 1-0 by Banks O’Dee and finished sixth in the league.

Low previously managed The Railwaymen from October 2019 until August 2021.

During that time he guided the club to its first cup final in three years and also through the coronavirus pandemic.

Low’s playing career saw him have two spells at Inverurie where he played 106 times and scored 23 goals.

Locos travel to Inverness on Saturday to face Clachnacuddin in the first round of the Scottish Cup.
