The Invictus Games is all about “rebranding” for Meghan Markle, claims The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson.
The royal expert told TalkTV that the Duchess of Sussex is being strategic “coming out smiling and being happy” in Düsseldorf this week after “we haven’t seen her in a year.”
Mr Wilkinson claims that Meghan plans to announce “some projects” at the “end of year” and is using the using the international sporting event for injured servicemen and veterens to raise her “profile.”
“The Invictus Games is Prince Harry’s baby, but this week is about rebranding for Meghan Markle,” Mr Wilkinson told TalkTV host Sarah Hewson.
“I think we are going to get some projects about Meghan announced at the end of the year. So this is about her looking good. Coming out smiling and being happy.
“We haven’t seen her for a year. We haven’t actually seen them go out and do anything interesting. This is about getting her pictured, getting her profile higher.”
It comes after royal author Tom Bower told GB News that Meghan is writing her own tell-all memoir, which he predicts will be “be a huge money-spinner.”
Mr Wilkinson claims the Sussexes have been seen “hand-in-hand” since Meghan touched down in Germany on Wednesday, in response to the rumours that “their marriage is about to break up.”
“They know that we’ve all been discussing whether their marriage is about to break up. They are aware of all the reports that have been going around,” Mr Wilkinson said.
“So [they are] coming here and putting on a proper united front. Not hiding away from the media but holding hands and joining in together.
“The first couple of days before Meghan was here, Harry would be hanging out with some of his male friends that work for the Invictus Games. They would be sitting together and having some fun.
“But now he’s with Meghan they are always hand-in-hand. Whenever they are walking around, he’s always got his hand on her back. She was rubbing his back at one stage. They’re constantly together.”
