On Saturday evening over 60 guests and players attended a presentation of cups at Harlaw Bowling Club where champion bowler for gents was announced as Bruce Stewart, with Linda Harper taking the Ladies Cup writes Mike Barron.
Harlaw is one of the biggest bowling clubs in Aberdeenshire and draws players from across the surrounding area.
After five rounds Bruce defeated Fraser Ross in the final of Singles 21-12.
He has only been with the club four years and his skill levels have progressed since then.
Regularly appearing in final stages of competitions is Linda Harper who won the Ladies Singles this year.
She beat the very promising youngster Lucy Willox.
Lucy, with Doug Fraser, won the District 3 (Aberdeenshire) and reached the second round of the Scottish mixed pairs.
She is regarded as a future champion if she continues practicing and continues to be dedicated to the game.
